I have a student I can no longer teach. What should I do?
Whether your schedule is changing, you're no longer available when your student is, or you need to take a break from tutoring, finding a replacement tutor for your student is a simple process. 🚀
Please ensure that you inform your students with as much advance notice as possible that you will no longer be able to continue tutoring them, with a brief explanation why if possible or applicable. As always, communication is key for ensuring our students and their families are informed and the transfer process goes smoothly.
Here are the 5 quick steps for finding a replacement:
1. Post the Vacancy 📋
When making your post in the WhatsApp subject groups, please use the following template and input all the information the new tutor will need to know about the student and what you've been working on so far:
Student age and grade level:
Subject details:
Frequency and timing of sessions:
Other details:
*don't forget to indicate the time zone your student is working in!
2. Select an Appropriate Tutor 👨🏫
Once a few tutors have indicated their interest, please continue the conversation via Direct Message on WhatsApp and confirm that they can meet the student's academic and timing needs. You know your student best, so be sure that the new tutor is prepared to take them on and continue the work you've been doing!
3. Inform the Student 💬
Send a message in your WhatsApp group with your student to let them know that you’ve found another great tutor who is ready to take over their learning journey!
4. Contact Support Number 📲
Reach out to the support number and select the options 2 (tutor)-4-4-yes. Inform the CC team about the replacement, and share both the new tutor’s and student’s login phone numbers so that they can make the switch.
5. Leave WhatsApp Group 👋
Please only do so after completing all previous steps. Make sure to thank the student, say goodbye and wish them well before you exit the group!
